In lieu of doing anything like school work, I've been shopping for backpacks for my latest euro adventure. Please weigh-in on the following from EMS...

An Ode
Lately I've been playing alot of "this time last year....," and its more than a little bit of a buzz kill naturally, as this time last year I was living in Florence. Today my sister, who is on her very first euroadventure, posted about American things she's not missing in the land of neutrality. So, I will share with you some of my absolute favorites from Florence while I keep reminding myself that I'll be back in the homeland in less than a month.

A Long Street
Finally, my brilliant sister has resigned herself to the world of blogging. Perhaps the Swiss have become too much for her? Probably not. Check her out, she's sort of the reason I live.

Watch out, girls with cheese steak
As I write this I should be knee deep in my presentation for Jones' seminar which is tomorrow morning. Of course I've put about forty minutes into it all together and got bored. This morning, Balint and I thought it'd be productive to go to the batting cage - you know, clear the head, get out a little aggression - get ready for the paper. Negative. Mostly some white trash kid tried to hijack my volkswagon and several eight year old boys showed us a thing or two about taking swings. And now.... we've got 20 dollars worth of tokens to use before I got to Europe in a month. Sweet.
I figure anything's better than figuring out how to present my thoughts on Christian Terrorism - namely the topic of (one of) my senior sem(s) so here's some pictures from last week.
Phils - Cubs c/o Megan

Ryan Howard being better than you

Pat Burell calmly pointing out the foul pole

My go-to member of the team, in a pinch
Yesterday was so beautiful out that Erin and I took a super impromptu trip to Philadelphia for some cheese steak, obviously. And I FINALLY convinced her that Jim's on 4th is the best steak in the city. I consider it a great service to humanity.

"Bloody China"
Regardless of my political views, which you know are annoying-ly liberal I am posting this video of the Olympic Torch being attacked in London. How we can allow the Olympics, games which are supposed to be about peace and an equal playing field, in a country that commits such egregious civil rights absuses is entirely beyond me. And that is the end of my political rant for the day.
Caught my first real live yankees game yesterday. It was huge. Too bad they got spanked by the Sox. Actually, as a Phillie's fan, I couldn't really care less, I just felt compelled to say it.

Terrible News
Frankly, I'm ashamed at just how lax I've become with this blog. But, I'm not being lazy, I've been getting the RU Screw from Rutgers for the last week and it's taking all of my energy just to figure out if I am, in fact, graduating. But, why bore you with the details? Regardless if whether or not one little math class (or three) is going to ruin my academic life I've got Phillie's tickets for Sunday, so I'm not going to worry about it right now.
Any way, my sister's been extra lonely over there in Zurich; she hasn't left our facebook scrabulous game in hours, just sitting there, trying to beat me with words like "ZITI". too bad i triple word scored her ass with, "TRIAGES". I digress. The following Eddie Izzard clip is her favorite, and so its for her <3.

Just A Friendly Reminder That The Big 12 Sucks
I didn't know what to make of the addition of Fresno State as the home opener of the '08 RU football season at first, so I had to give it some thought. Competitively speaking the 9-4 Fresno state (who beat GA Tech in the Humanitarian Bowl) is the obvious choice, and of course I like replacing a I-AA team whenever possible (sorry, Howard). But, I am a little weary about return trip to CA for the Knights in 2012 - I just can't look that far into the future. So, I guess I'd like to thank K-State for wimping out against Fresno and allowing RU to beef up our schedule. Now, if we could figure out whats going on with the TBA game on 27 September, maybe I could sleep at night.
And now, absurd things I read at work today
